Prostatic Abscess Secondary to Staphylococcus haemolyticus and Escherichia coli: A Case Report

A prostate abscess is a rare clinical entity with an incidence of 0.2%-0.5% in males. No case reports exist Staphylococcus haemolyticus as etiologic bacterial agent. We report 59-year-old man past medical history poorly controlled diabetes mellitus and benign prostatic hyperplasia who was hospitalized due to urosepsis obstruction. discovered initially treated intravenous vancomycin ertapenem. Clinical improvement apparent within two days following transrectal drainage. Four weeks antibiotics followed. Prostatic cultures grew Escherichia coli tube deployment. To the best our knowledge, this first reporting organism abscess. regard another example rising gram-positive organisms abscesses post-antibiotic era.
